As Chair of the Tuscola County Republican Party, I want to extend a sincere invitation to the Republicans, Independents and Walk-Away Democrats across our county who are already standing up for what’s right.
I see you. You’re the parents speaking at school board meetings, the farmers protecting valuable farmland, the small business owners mentoring young workers, and the neighbors helping neighbors when times are hard. Tuscola County is strong because of people like you.
But many of those same people hesitate when invited to a party meeting. Sometimes it’s because of past disagreements, frustration with politics, or the feeling that the system is too broken to matter.
I understand that. Politics can be messy. But it’s also an opportunity—an opportunity to learn patience, kindness and strategy, to be understanding without being naïve, and to work together even when we don’t agree on everything.
The truth is, most of our differences are small compared to the bigger issues facing our county, our state, and our country.

The February special election in Saginaw was a wake-up call we can’t ignore. Democrats showed up in force—nearly twice as many voters as Republicans—while too many of our own stayed home. That’s how elections are lost, not because our values don’t resonate, but because we don’t turn out. The midterms will be no different unless we change that now. That’s why our theme is Charging Forward Together—because winning requires unity, focus, and action. We don’t have to agree on everything to stand together on what matters most: protecting our communities, our freedoms, and our future. The consequences of sitting out are far greater than any differences within our party. If we want to keep control of our state’s direction and prevent one-party control of the legislature, governor’s office, Secretary of State, and Attorney General, then we must show up—strong, united, and ready. This is our moment to step forward, stand together, and make sure our voices are heard where it matters most: at the ballot box.
These are the leaders who earned the full support of the Republican Party because they share our values and have the experience to win.
Here’s the no-brainer truth: not voting simply hands the election — and control of our county — straight to the Democrats.
And when Republicans split their votes by supporting non-endorsed candidates who chose to run on other tickets, we divide our own strength and make it easier for the other side to win.
Every vote matters, but only a united Republican vote guarantees victory.
